Time is of the Essence

Completely casual today. This outfit I took out on a casual stroll with me down the mall. The stripes and the colors remind me of the U.S flag, a print that is on many people's fashion radar at the moment. Simple patterns like these actually call for clash I think.

I feel very youthful in this outfit. Speaking of youth, I have been doting upon the concept of maturity today. I know I actually woke up one day feeling more mature than I did yesterday. But how do we define it? I'd like to think of maturity as a completely human concept. Other animals seem to retain their pattern of thinking throughout their lives, but humans change. That's because humans are capable of thinking at higher levels - we're able to think about our thinking - all thanks to our fickle-friend, the frontal lobe. Animals, of course, don't have this higher cognition we do. I believe that maturity is when we abandon our base-level thinking such as I'm hungry, I want that, I'm bored to higher-level processing. I saw a child today who was crying over a toy and the adults rushed to soothe him and alleviate his seemingly burning and desperate desires. When the boy grows up, he'll look back at this incident and shudder at how immature he was. This is why as we grow older, we encounter less embarrassing situations.

But I might be wrong. What do you think?

Cobalt in the Sky

I'm feeling more relaxed today since the workload is easing up. Spring Break ends tomorrow sadly, but at the same time, I can't wait to meet all of my friends and catch up with them.
I'm sporting the bed-head look again. It's my laziness, please forgive me.

I'm loving this cobalt color. I haven't changed this color from my nails for more than a week now! It goes with almost everything and to make it pop even more, I paired it with a sweet lace top. The pants really are the star of this outfit. I'm wearing Zara nearly head to toe now, excluding the bag and accessories. The mall closest to my house has Zara and nothing else, so please bear with me :). I promise not everything I own is from there.

CityGrove

I'm loving this cobalt color! It matches my nails!
It's tuesday. I just went out to dinner with my friends yesterday at Union, had some fun and returned quite late into the night.

I hadn't done my hair yet, and yes, I am quite a bedhead.

I paired my old hollister dress with a cape/jacket I sourced from some local store here. Its amazing what wonders a cape can do. I know that this is probably a very unlikely pairing of garments but I like the clash. And besides, I think you have to be daring when you're age is below 20. Whenever my mother tries on some clothes, she is always so meticulous in what colors match and what prints don't. I say, no! I say take whatever you feel like wearing, and make it work.

First Day of Spring

Its the first day of spring break and I can't be more excited! Today will be a lazy day, just lounging on the couch, sipping on fine tea, and perhaps another stroll in my local mall. I'll probably pick up some groceries, a new batch of makeup, and the latest copy of the economist. Another item on my shopping list will probably be the ACT and SAT book (can i just get it over with, already?)

To brighten up my day, I paired some purple pants with a lumberjack shirt and some hardcore metal accessories. And to contrast all of those flamboyant, cool, colors I am currently donning, I paired my warm vintage satchel to soften it all up.

This vintage satchel was a gift from my mother, which was passed down from my grandmother. I'm a sucker for all things vintage, and this satchel fits everything I wear! Brilliant.
A pair of super cute booties always cheer me up! These ones I got on my trip to Paris.
